The other day we were chatting together and realised how much we have changed in certain areas- the culture and environment here have shaped us in unexpected ways.
Driving is a case in point. Those who know us from back in the UK will remember that one of us was renowned for being an overly cautious driver and the other was hailed as a somewhat erratic road user……
So picture the following scenarios.
David now drives really quite slowly and is very much aware of possible hazards. Liza remains careful but no longer fears the ire of fellow drivers and makes her way through the chaotic jams in town in order to reach the main highway cheerfully shouting “Ndugu, unafanya nini?!” * at the people who hassle her and try to squeeze her off the road.
Who’d have thought it?
