Liza has been doing some supply teaching at her old school recently and one of the joys of working there is the early morning drive through the glorious West Sussex countryside. There have been the usual autumn mists hovering over the fields and the early October, subtly changing colours but there has also been something strange. A beautiful big Heron standing by the roadside, looking to all intents and purposes like he is about to try to cross over and as he has appeared in more than one place, he may well have managed to do so…..
Then the other day we decided to put bird food in the contraptions left hanging by the previous owners, in the little tree in the garden of our new house. So far there has been only one visitor to sample the delights of the nuts and seeds… and Mr Squirrel nearly killed himself in his determined attempts to reach the feeding station but reach it, he did….
